INTRODUCTION
BLURRINESS
'Sometimes we can’t see things clearly.’ I got my initial idea from looking at the streetlights and the windows at rainy night. The streetlight will become blurry at rainy night, and we cannot see clearly outside through the windows. Therefore, I want to describe this visual effect through my jewellery.
In this project, i have two groups of work. The first series regards jewellery as a medium that create the blurry effect. And the second series is an object, which represents a moment of blurry effect, and lead people to explore and imagine. Otherwise, i think jewellery is not a simple accessory , it is rich and interesting. People wear jewellery and also play with them.
I inspired from the textured glasses, which can reflect the blurry effects. Otherwise, I think my jewellery piece could use the textured lenses and reflect blurry effects. To consider about the texture, I connect the shadow on the water and the streetlight, and design the water waves as texture. Therefore, I use sculpy to make the forms and use resin as my main materials, and test the texture, thickness and colour at the same time, and choose the best effect for final design.
On the other side, the second series is an object, which represents a moment of blurry effect, and I wish people can play, explore and imagine what inside is. I get inspire from streetlight light, because the streetlight reflect the blurry effect through the outside glass. Therefore, I connect with the texture of water waves, and use transparent colour inside the textured surface.
